EFTPOS Terminal Compliance
** IMPORTANT **
The Paymark certification on all version 5.2 EFTPOS terminals is due to expire on 1 June 2014. This means that as of this date, you will no longer be able to accept electronic payments via any 5.2 terminal.
Whilst June 2014 may seem some way off, now is the time to start thinking about upgrading your EFTPOS terminal to the current version 6.0.
If the contract on your version 5.2 EFTPOS terminal is nearing renewal, please ensure that you DO NOT resign on this version - irrespective of the length of contract you have on your 5.2 terminal, it will no longer be able to accept electronic transactions as at 1 June 2014.
Please contact your EFTPOS terminal provider to discuss your upgrade options (your terminal provider's information should be located on a sticker on your EFTPOS terminal). Alternatively, click here for a list of Paymark Partners (terminal providers).
More information on upgrading 5.2 version EFTPOS terminals will be available in Feb/March 2012 - please check back with us then.
The deadline for 5.1 (or older) specification terminal upgrades has passed
If you have already upgraded your terminal and/or are operating a 5.2 or higher specification terminal, then you don't need to do anything else.
Merchants operating 5.1 (or older) specification terminals were disconnected from the Paymark network from 1 June 2011. Once disconnected, terminals are no longer able to process EFTPOS transactions.
If you wish to check that your terminal needs to be upgraded, please enter your terminal ID into the tool at the bottom of this page (your terminal ID can be found on any of your EFTPOS receipts).
If you have been disconnected you will need to either:
- upgrade to a 6.0 specification terminal, which will work immediately once connected to the network;
- or contact Paymark for assistance.
To arrange a terminal upgrade please contact your EFTPOS terminal provider (this information should be located on a sticker on your terminal). If you are unsure who your EFTPOS terminal provider is or you would like information on Paymark's Accredited Partners, visit our partner pages, send us an email or call us on 0800 PAYMARK (0800 729 627).
If you are leasing or purchasing a new EFTPOS terminal, please make sure that it is compliant. Click here for a list of 5.1 terminals to avoid.
